01 Our aim
We want everyone to be able to use the Choose Speed website, whatever device, ability or language they use. This statement is made by Choosespeed Ltd, which trades as Choose Speed.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not yet had an independent audit, so we do not claim that every page conforms fully.
02 What we have done
- Every page is built to be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus mark, and the cookie banner is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
- Pages use headings, landmarks, labelled forms and error messages that say what is wrong and where.
- Text and controls are designed for readable contrast. The site has a light and a dark theme.
- Animation is part of the design and plays on every device, including when the device asks for less motion. No information depends on it: the same text and controls are there with or without it. If motion is a problem for you, tell us (see below).
- The website can be read in English and in Arabic, with right-to-left layout, and more languages will follow.
- We run automated accessibility checks on our pages and fix what they find.
03 Known limits
- Automated checks do not find every problem. A full manual review with several screen readers has not been done yet.
- Translations other than English are still being reviewed. Where a text is not translated, the English text is shown.
- Screenshots in our showcase are pictures of other websites. They have short descriptions, but the pictures themselves cannot be made accessible.
- Websites that we link to are not ours, and their accessibility is outside our control.
- Some decorative drawings move or change as you scroll. They carry no information that is not also given in text.
04 Tell us about a problem
If you cannot use a part of the website, or you need information in a different form, such as plain text or larger print, write to contact@choosespeed.com. Please tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive tool you use. We will answer as soon as we can and, where we can, fix the problem and send you the information in a form you can use.
05 If you are not happy with our answer
In the UK, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) if you feel we have not answered you well. If you live elsewhere, your national equality or consumer body can help.
06 Review
We review this statement when we change the website in a significant way and at least once a year.
